Sometimes it's the things we DON'T do that
disappoint God the most!

Deut 6:4-9
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day,
shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children,
and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down,
and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house,
and on thy gates.

LIGHT from the WORD.

The Hebrew word from which "Hear" is translated is shema.
And these verses comprise the fundamental idea of God,
and our relationship with Him.

Look at this first verse (verse 4) for a moment.
"The LORD our God is one LORD:...."

This is not in conflict with the TRINITY.
The trinity of God is confirmed throughout the Bible.
This is a didactic statement of God's UNITY!
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
are separate persons, but they are ALWAYS in unison!

The FIRST teaching of the Shema is to LOVE God!
Love Him with ALL that you ARE! (See Mark 12:30)

The SECOND teaching of the Shema is LEARN!
Let the WORDS of God sink into your "heart"!
There, they will be the standard by which you will make decisions!

The THIRD teaching of the Shema (vs 7) is TEACH!
Teach your children about God.
Teach them in EVERY circumstance and time of your life!
Teach them EVEN WHEN they don't want to LISTEN!

And the FOURTH teaching of the Shema (verses 8-9)
is to TELL OTHERS--BE PUBLIC with your faith in God!
Put God's Word out in FRONT of you!
Let people know WHOM you believe and WHY!

Do you see anything there you are NOT doing?

Love ya!
