Once, Paul Dawson from Pendleton, Oregon was visiting the
Grand Coulee Dam with his family.

It was a sunny day, but the visitor's center was dark.
They though perhaps the center had tinted windows.

But, when they went inside it was dark, and none of the
displays were working.
He learned that, due to some technical problem, the
visitor's center had no power!

The visitors' center sat only hundreds of feet from a
hydroelectric dam, but had no power!

How could something be so close to the power source, yet
not be "plugged in"?

2 Tim 3:1-4
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than
lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:
from such turn away.

LIGHT from the WORD.

There is no doubt that "perilous times" are here NOW!
As a general whole, mankind can certainly be described
by the words in verses 2-4 above.

There are many who make a show of "godliness,"
giving signs of following doctrine and practice.
But, they DENY the "power thereof."

What IS the "power" of truly following Christ?
What is the STRENGTH of our faith?

It is the CONNECTION to Him Who is omnipotent - all power!

This computer will not work unless it is connected to the
power source.
A car motor will not start unless it is connected to the battery.

Those two actions of faith need to be PERSISTENTLY
practiced by every Christian!

Be ALERT and stay CONNECTED to God!

WATCH - because the day of Christ's appearing COULD
come "upon you UNAWARES!" (See Lk 21:34)

PRAY - because you need the CONNECTION to your
power source!!

Christian, you are CLOSE the power source!
Never allow yourself to be "denying the POWER!"

Love ya!
