TEACHER: John, why are you doing your math multiplication on the floor?

JOHN: You told me to do it without using tables.

Ps 119:4-7
4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

John, in the joke above, took the teacher’s instructions seriously.
However, I’m afraid most Christians don’t take God’s instructions seriously.

In a recent survey, only 19% of regular-attending Christians said they studied the Bible every day!

How can a Christian know he/she is being taught and led truthfully in God’s will without Bible study?
1 John 4:1 says, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:
because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

When Paul and Silas went to the Jews in Berea, they received the good news of Christ readily.
But they also searched the Scriptures daily to see if Paul and Silas were preaching truth!
Acts 17:10-11
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

There are many verbally capable Bible teachers in the world today.
How can one KNOW if what they teach is spiritually aligned with God’s Truth?

I’m afraid we are seeing the days when many Christians just seek teachers to “tickle their ears.”
Too often, Christians want their teaching and preaching to be pleasing to themselves rather than
2 Tim 4:3-4 says, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

Let’s take God’s “instruction Book” SERIOUSLY!
After all it is the:

Love ya!
