Young Simon was sitting in his grandmother's kitchen,
watching her prepare the Thanksgiving meal.

“What are you doing?” Simon enquired.

“Oh, I'm just stuffing the turkey,” his grandmother replied.

“Wow, that's cool.” Simon remarked. “Are you going to
hang it on the wall next to the deer?”

Phil 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made
known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

LIGHT from the WORD.

Back in the late 1700's, a wagon train had experienced
great difficulties.
Most of the wagons had broken down several times.
The cattle were all very lean from lack of grazing grass.
Tempers were high, optimism was gone, and courage was weak.

The men called a meeting to discuss the problems.
Gathered 'round the campfire that evening, one of them said,
"Before we begin, let us thank God we haven't been attacked,
and that we are still able to move forward."

After the brief prayer, there was silence!
No one stated any problems!

As you gather in families for Thanksgiving Day this year,
THANK GOD for your blessings!

Then, many of your problems will seem to dissipate!

"Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul,
Thank you, Lord, for making me whole;
Thank you, Lord, for giving to me
Thy great salvation so rich and free. "
