THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
So far today, God, I've done all right. I haven't gossiped, haven't lost my temper, haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or over-indulgent. I'm really glad about that.
But in a few minutes, God, I'm going to get out of bed.
And from then on I'm going to need a lot more help!
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
1 Thess 5:17
Pray without ceasing.
Man's way leads to a hopeless end -- God's way leads to an endless hope.
This world presents each of us with many difficulties each day.
If we try to "do our own thing," we'll have far too LITTLE advice.
If we try to get help from our friends, we might get too much BAD advice.
But when we seek God's will, through study of His Word and prayer, we find the "right way!"
When you pray, don't give God instructions. Just report for duty!
It is good to remember, when praying, we are SERVANTS and God is MASTER!
"...and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble." (1 Peter 5:5)
The verse from Psalm 55 above reminds us to pray earnestly OFTEN.
The verse from 1Thessalonians 5 above reminds us to have a constant ATTITUDE of prayerfulness.
To set a time or times of prayer each day shows our WILLINGNESS to serve God.
To be in a constant attitude of prayer shows our NEED of God's direction.
Have you a special TIME for prayer each day?
Do you live each day in a continual search for God's will?
