THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
As a young boy enrolled in a “Royal Ambassador” program with our church, I tried swinging off
a rope we had tied to a tall bridge.
When I came off the rope, I turned slightly and landed on my side.
OUCH! That hurt!
Dad was one of the counselors.
He said, “Try it again.”
I said, “No, sir. That hurt too much.”
He said, “Son, you’ve got to make the conquest of faith over experience.”
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death,
we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
On the “swing” of life, we all become hurt.
Continuing in faith through Christ is conquest.
When we surrender our lives to Christ, He transforms us and gives life new meaning.
2 Cor 5:17 says,
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
That “new creature” is filled with the faith of Christ and the power of His “resurrection!”
Our “new creature” is filled with the Spirit of the Living God!
He is the power by which Jesus was raised from the dead!
Through His power, we are able to face life, and death, with certainty.
The experiences of this life which give us pain become dim with the realization of eternal life with Christ!
ALL of us fail and bring pain to ourselves because of sin.
ALL of us suffer from the pain brought by others’ sin.
But, praise God, He gives us FAITH!
By this faith, we know that we have an “Advocate” with God through Jesus (1John 2:1).
By this faith, we “...are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation...” (1Peter 1:5)
When the “swing” of life brings you sadness and pain,
get back ON!
Live in the conquest of faith!
