THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Bubba was having trouble sleeping and went to see the psychiatrist.
He told the shrink that he thought there were giants under his bed.
They talked for an hour.
The psychiatrist said, "Come back to see me 3 times a week, and we can cure that problem."
The bill for that 1 hour was $80!
Bubba said, "I'll think about coming back."
Next week, the psychiatrist saw Bubba on the street.
He asked, "Bubba, you didn't come back to talk to me. How are you doing with that sleeping problem?"
Bubba said, "Oh! Quite well doc. My friend healed me for $10."
Amazed, the shrink asked, "How'd he do that?"
Bubba said, "He told me to cut the legs off my bed. Ain't nuthin' can get under there now!"
41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue:
and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying.
But as he went the people thronged him.
Jesus was asked to come and heal Jairus' dying daughter.
His compassion was so great, Jesus began to follow the man to his house.
"But as he went..." people gathered around Him.
The compassion of Jesus was felt by all who came in contact with Him.
His great love blossomed with beauty, and people were instantly attracted to Him.
And "..as He went.." someone in the crowd touched Him.
She was instantly healed!
Isn't it wonderful to know that our Lord has such compassion and energy?!
In the book of Lamentations, Jeremiah writes about our Lord saying, "...His compassions fail not!" (Lam. 3:22)
Our Lord, Jesus, is not limited in power!
Neither is He limited by space and time!
And most of all, His love and compassion are inexhaustible!
As He is answering one request, He is quite capable of answering another, and another, and another.
Like the sun, constantly shining, Jesus is emitting love and compassion at all times.
The path TO Him and FROM Him is brightly lit with His grace and loving kindness.
This is a wonderful encouragement to believers.
His power is constantly at use for our benefit.
As we reach out and touch Him, we are healed in our spirits.
His love covers our pain, and sooths our souls.
There's a song performed by the Squire Parsons Trio entitled "Touch The Hem of His Garment."
The chorus goes like this,
"Touch the hem of His garment, as He passes by your way.
Touch the Hem of His garment, He's within your reach of faith this very day."
Jesus is always ready to pour out His power.
Let us not be unready in coming to Him and asking.
The depth of His compassion is more than we can fathom!
"...His compassions fail not!" (Lam. 3:22)
