THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Things growing in knowledge teaches you:

No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
Puppies still have bad breath even after eating a tic tac.
Never hold a dustbuster and a cat at the same time.
If you want someone to listen to you, just whisper.
Sometimes you have to take the test before you've finished studying.

The Scripture above is part of a prayer penned by Paul to the church at Ephesus.
Paul's desire is that they "know the love of Christ" because it "passeth knowledge," and by knowing that love they will be "filled with all the fulness of God."

The love of Christ is a doing love!
We KNOW His love by what it does to us, in us and how it goes through us!

The love of Christ is redeeming love!
When we were lost in sins, dead in sins and trespasses, Christ paid the penalty for us!

The love of Christ is justifying love!
He is the "Justifier," and all who come to Him receive justification before God's throne!

The love of Christ is restraining love!
When we were headed toward the "lake that burns with fire and brimstone," Jesus kept us from sinning the unpardonable sin!
He brought us to a position of surrender, and kept us from condemnation.
When we deserved the statement "why cumbereth it the ground," Jesus kept back the axe of justice and poured out mercy!

The love of Christ is assuring love!
When we are concerned about our problems, He gives us comfort, peace and rest!
When the burdens of the day are heavy, He assures us of our "mansions" for tomorrow!

There are many more examples of what the love of Christ does to us and in us.
But let me mention how the love of Christ is known by going THROUGH us!

The love of Christ is a compelling love!
It compels us, as born again believers, to go into the "highways and hedges, and COMPEL them to come in!" (Luke 14:23)

KNOW "the love of Christ" today!

Love ya,
Bruce
