THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Published it in the December 27, 1942, New York (NY) Times:
A private was writing a letter home to his mother.
He said, “The food in this camp is absolute poison,”
Then, continuing his complaint he said, “and such small portions!”
For the LORD's portion is his people...
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
According to Deut. 32:9 above, the Lord has chosen His people to be His “portion” – or inheritance.
He has given them His “all,” and has placed “all” of Himself in them.
God has “chosen” His people.
He “purchased” them with His own blood.
He fought the battle of sin FOR them, and won the victory.
Now, the statement in Lam. 3:24 above, is that God’s people choose HIM to be their “portion” – or inheritance.
Have we given Him our “all?”
Have we placed “all” of ourselves in Him?
WE Christians are the “called according to HIS purpose.” (Rom. 8:28)
HIS purpose is to extend saving grace to ALL people.
Yet, most people who call themselves Christians very seldom ever even try to bring another person to Jesus!
Where is Jesus in your life’s circle?
Is He at the center – the MAIN “portion”?
Or, is He only a small portion?
