THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The oyster gets a piece of irritating sand inside.
The sand aggravates and agitates.
But the oyster has a fluid inside, which it secretes upon the sand.
And the oyster makes a beautiful pearl from the irritating sand.
1 Peter 1:6-9
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Life brings its difficulties to our souls.
There is, it seems, almost always a “trial of your faith.”
But faith is on the inside by the power of God’s Holy Spirit’s indwelling.
Upon the difficulties and trials, faith secretes solidity and strength.
Because of our love for Christ, we continue to “rejoice,” regardless of the difficulties we endure.
There is “joy unspeakable” in our hearts.
Yes, we can communicate that joy in some ways.
However, the joy is indescribably greater than we can describe!
Daily contact with our Lord, through prayer, fills us with courage to face every “trial.”
Faith becomes stronger when tried in the “fires of adversity.”
With the endurance of each test of life, intensity grows in our faith.
Let the “sands of life” bring out the PEARL of faith!
