THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
(Thanks to JoAnn for this one.)
It is an ironic juxtaposition of events that this year "Groundhog Day" and
the "State of The Union Address" happen on the same day.
One involves a meaningless ritual, in which we look to a creature of small
intelligence for prognostication.
The other involves a
29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
The above Scripture is an example of heavenly truth.
It is not a parable.
It is an example of heavenly truth given from the observation of an earthly tree.
When the buds come out on the fig tree, one knows that summer will soon follow.
"So likewise," Jesus says, we should know that when the world is in turmoil, "the kingdom of God is NIGH..."
As we look around at the world today, we can certainly see there is turmoil.
The "State of the Union" is DISARRAY!
We should observe and deduce that Christ could SOON come again!
It COULD BE today!
Indeed, we should plan for tomorrow.
But we should live as if there will not be one!
