THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Pray as though everything depended on God.
Work as though His strength is IN you!
But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
Salvation is "of the LORD!"
It begins with a call from God in loving mercy.
It is sustained by His continued grace.
It will be completed by our compassionate God in judgment of acquittal for a sinful soul.
We do no work in ourselves which contributes to our salvation.
Any work we do for God is because His salvation is working in us!
Jesus said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
Paul said, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Gal 2:20)
Christians do not work for salvation.
We work because salvation is working in us!
Let us continue to be humble.
And "...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." (Phil 2:12-13)
It is Christ's strength that sustains us.
May all glory be to His Holy Name!
