Many years ago (before the automobile) a farmer came into town driving a team of horses.
He stopped at the courthouse to vote and asked a man standing there, "Would you hold my horses for jest a minute?"

The man looked appalled! He said, "Sir! I am a member of the legislature!"

The farmer grinned, handed the man the reins, and said, "You may NOT be when I get through voting!"

Prov 24:24-25
24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

God decides which nations endure and which fall.
And God decides based on how His people live. (2Chronicles 7:14)

If God's people are living righteously, He gives them good leaders to endure.
If God's people are living worldly lives, He gives them unrighteous leaders to chastise them and bring them to repentance.

Exercising the right to vote is one way to "rebuke" those who do wrong in leadership.
Christians' lack of involvement in the political process weakens our voice and threatens to erode our right to bring biblically based views to the policy makers.

John Adams (2nd President of the US) once wrote a letter to his wife in which he stated, "It is Religion and Morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can freely stand. A patriot must be a religious man."

As Christians, we should look beyond the campaign rhetoric and be INFORMED voters.
We should vote according to God's defined will in relation to the issues.
As we examine the positions of candidates on issues, we must vote according to moral conscience dictated by biblical principles.

Be informed:
A vote for someone who endorses abortion is a vote for murder.
A vote for someone who supports gambling is a vote for ruining marriages and families.
A vote for someone who endorses same-sex marriages is a vote for an "abomination" against God.

Vote informed.
Vote with conscience.
Vote as if God were watching, because He IS.

And by all means - VOTE!
Nothing gets done "sittin' on the sidelines!'"

Love ya!
