THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
“Clutter” is usually the result of postponed decisions.
You WANTED to throw it away, but never did.
You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.
1 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
Unfortunately, most of us allow “clutter” to fill our lives: physically, mentally, and even spiritually.
Every so often we need to “trash the clutter.”
As, Chuck Swindoll says, “We all need a check up from the neck up to get rid of stinkin’ thinkin’!”
God knew that Jacob’s life was full of “clutter.”
So He called Jacob back to “Bethel,” where Jacob had first experienced God in a genuine manner.
Do you remember the day you FIRST came to Christ?
Your desires were DIFFERENT from what they had been before.
God CHANGED you!
You WANTED to pray, to study the Bible, to be in church, to learn and grow in Christ and be useful to Him.
Are those desires still as intense as they were then?
Or, has the “clutter” of life come between you and “Bethel?”
Go back to “Bethel” today.
Renew your commitment to God.
And, He will renew YOU!
