Two young boys were fishing from the river bank when a game
warden drove up.

One of the boys dropped his fishing rod and began to run into
the woods.
The game warden naturally pursued.

After a few moments, the boy stopped to catch his breath and
the game warden collared him.
He said, "I need to see your fishing license."

The boy pulled out his billfold and produced a valid license.
The game warden said, "Well, why did you run?"

The boy said, "My friend back there? He don't have one!"

James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Light from the Word.

My dad used to say, "I can resist anything but temptation."

Actually, that's a pretty true statement.
As Christians, we have great power of resistance within us.
But, within ourselves, we often yield to that which pleases us!

There are two keys to avoiding the devil's temptations.

First, "Submit yourselves therefore to God."
When we genuinely and publicly submit to Christ as Lord,
we desire to please Him rather than self.
Humbly, we recognize that we NEED His power in us.
And God readily provides that power.

Second, "Resist!"
We do not resist temptation by arguing about it.
We simply refuse to commit action that is wrong.
Standing firm in Christ's presence and power, we "resist!"

We must understand the devil doesn't flee simply because
he's resisted.
He flees because we resist "IN Christ!"
Christís power, to Whom we submit, ALWAYS refuses evil!

God ALWAYS does His part.
Are you doing YOUR part?

Love ya!
