THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
HI!
When I was in the USAF and stationed at Kessler AFB,
I joined the Drill Team.
That was a small group of men, highly trained in marching
and twirling an M-1 rifle (WITH a shiny bayonet).
While training for the team, I learned to throw the M-1 up,
let it spin twice, and then catch it.
While practicing that manuever one day, I DROPPED it!
It BROKE!
I had to PAY to have that rifle replaced!
I guess that's why, in the Navy, the Captain
goes down with the ship!

Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth
down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

LIGHT from the WORD.
Philip had been with some other apostles and disciples
preaching in Samaria.
A great REVIVAL was happening there!
People were believing in Jesus!
Just then, God said to Philip, "Arise, and go toward the
south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem to
Gaza, which is desert!"
WOW!
I can imagine Philip being in dismay!
"WHAT? God, there's a GREAT REVIVAL going on here!
People are getting saved! New and fresh work is being done
by Your Holy Spirit. And, You want me to go to the DESERT?"
But LISTEN to this: Philip OBEYED!!
SOMETIMES, the place where God wants us MOST
is NOT the place we most WANT to be!!
Yes. God does send SOME people to specific places.
However, God ALWAYS sends MOST of His servants
to ALL people! (See Matt. 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8)
Take the directive!
Don't be selective!
