THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven
and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from
God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the
tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them,
and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them,
and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there
shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall
there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
In Revelation 21, the New Jerusalem, or heaven, is pictured as a cube.
Verse 16 says it has the same length, breadth and height.
That same verse says each direction is 12,000 furlongs, which is 1,500 miles.
Verse 14 says the city has 12 “foundations,” which I see as 12 floors.
That means each floor will be 125 miles high!!
Perhaps that’s because there’ll be so much JUMPING and SHOUTING!!
Everyone wants to go “home” to heaven!
But there are so many views about getting there.
And all but ONE view is WRONG!
In order to have a “homecoming,” there must be a “homeGOING!”
You can only get to a “homecoming” at a church if you:
Commit to go, Prepare to go, and Get on the road!
First, one must be COMMITTED!
That commitment must be to JESUS CHRIST!
Acts 4:12 says,
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name
under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Rom 10:9-10 says,
“9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Jesus Himself said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)
Second, one must be PREPARED!
We must LEARN of Christ, and DO according to His will.
Bible study, prayer, church attendance, giving and ministry to others are our
In Peter’s last words to the church, he said, “But grow in grace, and in the
knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both
now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)
Third, one must GET ON THE ROAD!
There is only ONE road! To FOLLOW Christ!
In John 14:6, Jesus said,
“...., I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
There IS a beautiful heaven!
It is PREPARED!
YOU are INVITED!
There WILL BE a wonderful “homecoming” up there!
Are you COMMITTED, PREPARING, and ON THE ROAD?
