THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
The BEST health food is the Word of God!
He who has never realized the "fear" of God, has never found true conviction and repentance.
"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Heb 10:31)
26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Sinful attitudes (which bring poor health) are the result of having no reverence, or fear of, the Lord God.
"There is no fear of God before their eyes." (Rom. 3:18)
Jesus said we should "fear" God because He is the ultimate judge of our eternal destiny.
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matt 10:28)
What is "the fear" of the Lord?
It is awesome reverence for His Supreme power and character:
His Holiness, omniscience and omnipotence.
It is recognizing that He is above all "principalities and power,"
and that with Him anything is possible and without Him we can do nothing acceptable in His sight.
Notice the results of having a "fear" of the Lord.
First, it brings "strong confidence."
When we surrender ourselves to the King of Kings, then we realize that "the end of all things" rests in His perfect will.
Only He, and no other authority, determines our eternal state.
There is no fear of the circumstances of life, because all ultimately ends in perfect communion with Him.
Second, this confidence yields a "place of refuge" for Godís children.
Being reared in an atmosphere of surety, His children find hope and trust in the Lord.
They learn sweet peace in prayer.
They learn to rely upon the infallible inerrancy of the Scriptures.
And they learn the comfort of serving in the "body of believers."
When life deals difficult blows, they know where to find a corner of rest.
Third, knowing Jesus as Lord provides a "fountain of life."
Having surrendered to His will, we find there is purpose in each day.
Therefore, each day is worthy of our best efforts, even though it may present "the snares of death."
Physical death is not the end of existence, it is only a doorway to eternity.
If you have surrendered to the Supreme Holy Lord, then know that there is security, rest, and purpose for each day.
The "fear" of the Lord is a HEALTHY ATTITUDE!
Live in "awesome reverence" for our Lord, Jesus!
