DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

When I was in the USAF, Ann & I lived in Shreveport.
Often, we would come home for the weekend.

Sometimes Mom would call and ask if we were
coming home that weekend.
If I said yes, she would say, "Good. Come eat
lunch with us Sunday. I'll have 2 chocolate pies."

She KNEW that would get my attention!

SCRIPTURE______________________________

John 4:31-35
31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another,
Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that
sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months,
and then cometh harvest?
behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields;
for they are white already to harvest.

THOUGHT________________________________

LIGHT from the WORD.

I LOVE to eat!
But I don't LIVE to eat!
I eat to LIVE!

Our text is taken from the end of the story about
"The Woman At The Well."

The disciples had brought food.
They asked Jesus to eat.
Jesus took the opportunity to teach them a valuable lesson.

Satisfaction in the soul is GREATER than satisfaction in the stomach!
(See John 4:34 above)

When Jesus told the disciples "lift up your eyes," they could see
the people whom the woman was bringing from the town!!
She had just been accepted into the loving salvation of the Lord.
And she had gone and brought the WHOLE TOWN to Jesus!!

Indeed, the fields of humanity are "ripe unto harvest" for JESUS!
The Word of God, Jesus, has been "sown" all over the world.

Yet, statistics tell us fewer than 25% of the world believe in Jesus!

The fields are "white," but where are the "reapers?"

Let us find greater satisfaction in bringing others to know Jesus
than we do in eating!

Love ya!
