THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Even as a child, I had always enjoyed helping Dad cut wood for the fireplaces.

When I was 10, Dad bought me a bowsaw for my birthday.

One of my aunts chastised Dad for buying me a "work tool" for a birthday gift.
Dad said, "I didn't buy the saw to MAKE him work.
It's just so he can do the work he enjoys more efficiently."

ALL Christians stand on common ground with God.
For all have received Christ, and been made "sons of God!"
John 1:12 says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"

Christian, God has not only given you the power to "become" a son of God.
He has also given you the power to BE a son of God.

You are not a "servant" of whom work is demanded.
But, you are a "son" who desires to do the work that pleases your Father.

You have "put on Christ," and have "put on" the desires of Christ.
With that, you have been "sealed" in His Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13), and are indwelled by Him.
God has placed in you the desire to do the things that please Him!
Phil 2:13 says, "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

As a Christian, you are God's "...workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Eph. 2:10)

If indeed God has "ordained" you TO the work, then
He shall also enable you FOR the work!

You have been given the “power tool” to BE what God desires as a “son.”

Being "born again" by the Spirit of God in Christ you desire to do the work of:
prayer, Bible study, attendance, giving and ministry.

You are not a "servant" of whom that work is demanded.
You are a "son" of our Father in heaven, and you haven an innate desire to do that work!

Live to fulfill your Spirit-given desires, and
you will not feel frustrated in your journey as God's child on this earth.

Love ya!
