DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"The SCENT Of UNITY"

The smell of a late-spring garden is very
enchanting.
Cucumbers combine with watermelon,
cantaloupe, peppers, and even onions
to produce the scent of GOOD FOOD
waiting to be PREPARED.

_______SCRIPTURE____________

Ps 133:1-3
1 A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good
and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together
in unity!
2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that
ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that
went down to the skirts of his garments;
3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that
descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there
the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for
evermore.
KJV

_______THOUGHT____________

In the Scripture above we learn a tremendous
lesson.
God has GIVEN unity to the church - to the
saints of God.

When people live in unity it is GOOD and
PLEASANT.
Now, a community: a subdivision, even a
town can have unity.
It depends on the attitude of the people.
They can DETERMINE to live in UNITY.

However, with the church, it is DIFFERENT.
Again, God has GIVEN unity to the church!
All are "one body," washed clean by ONE
BLOOD, baptized into ONE SPIRIT, and
placed into ONE FAMILY -- the church!

One thing we realize from the example of
a late-spring garden, the church is GIVEN
unity, but it is WAITING to be PREPARED!

Unity must be MAINTAINED by the determined
attitude of the MEMBERS!

"I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech
you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith
ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness,
with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in
the bond of peace."
(Ephesians 4:1-3)

Make the "scent" of unity PLEASANT!

Love ya!
