THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Knowing Christ, and His presence in our soul,
we are satisfied with goodness;
and are not overly tempted by the world's garbage.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Light from the Word.
Think for a moment about a sheep lying down in
deep tender grass.
That sheep must be content!
He's not hungry, else he'd be up eating the grass.
So it is with Christ's children.
We are content with His provision.
Paul said it this way:
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned,
in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound:
every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and
to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Now, think of a sheep beside "still waters."
This suggests quiet fulfillment.
Peaceful provision of thirst.
Again, we are spiritually satisfied with Christ's provision.
He grants us stillness within, even when there are storms
raging round us.
He gives us REST from the weariness of the world.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly
places in Christ:
When you have Jesus,
You find you have all you need!
