THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
When we are "in Christ," even the darkest valley of death
is not to be feared.
For death is only the door to eternal existence with Him.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Light from the Word.
We all face death.
To those who do not have Christ it is a dark valley.
But with Christ, there is no "evil" to fear in death.
Only the body dies.
The real person moves on to be with Christ.
(See Ecclesiastes 12:6-7, and John 11:26)
When we know Christ as our LORD, and SAVIOUR,
then we are assured He will come to receive us to
Himself at the point of our death.
For He is constantly "with" us!
Also, as we live life, we have God's "rod and staff."
This is His WORD.
Note: the rod with the crook on the end.
The rod of the shepherd was to guide the sheep on the right path.
Sometimes it was used to ward of predators.
That's what God's Word does for the Christian.
The crook on the staff of the shepherd was used to set the sheep
back on his feet if he fell over and couldn't get back up.
It was also used to grab the legs of the sheep, and pull him back
if he began to wander.
The Word of God will do that for a person who truly has chosen to serve God.
Be comforted with the Word of God.
Know that death is not an end, but a transition.
