THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

I remember being in “Royal Ambassadors” when I was a kid.
Our counselors taught us from the Bible, and tried to get us
ready for Jesus’ return.

We took camping trips.
Sometimes we camped by the river, and fished.
Sometimes we camped in the woods.

One night we camped by the baptismal spring across the
road from the church.
It was only about 100 yds. from the graveyard!

THAT location was scary enough for a kid.
But then, one of the counselors began to teach us a song:
“Did you ever think when the hearse rolls by,
That you might be the next to die?”

He had MY attention!
The song went on:
“They’ll wrap you up in a nice clean sheet,
And put you down about six feet deep!
All will go well for about a week,
And then the coffin will begin to leak!”

Right about then, I was getting SHAKY!
Then, the next line:
“The worms crawl in, and the worms crawl out...”

NOPE!! I rolled up my sleeping bag!
I was going HOME!!

THOUGHT____________________________________

When you are a kid, it’s not only difficult to deal with death;
it’s hard even to TALK about it!
For some people, it’s hard to deal with it ANYWAY – even if you’re an adult.

Light from the Word.

There are two parts to death.
The first is realizing that, unless Jesus comes again first,
we ALL must face it!

The second part is determining WHERE YOU ARE GOING!

I’m so glad Jesus said,
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men,
him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny
before my Father which is in heaven.”

(Matt. 10:32-33)

If you have surrendered your life to Jesus, then you are PREPARED for death.
Because, KNOW where you are going!

Are you PREPARED?

Love ya!
