THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A candidate was being examined for a position on the police force.

"If you were by yourself in a police car, and were pursued by a desperate gang of criminals in another car
doing 40mph along a lonely road, what would you do?"

The candidate looked a little surprised.
Then he smiled and replied,
"FIFTY!"

Prov 4:10-13
10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

THOUGHT____________________________________

Many Christians are like the candidate for policeman above.
They let the world of desperateness "catch up" to them.

You're only young once, but you can be immature indefinitely.

When we become stagnant in learning and growing for the Lord,
we become stagnant in doing for the Lord.

Light from the Word.

The Bible is completely inexhaustible.
However, in order to learn God's Word, we must first study it.

As we get older, we shouldn't think that we have learned enough.
Instead, we should keep on reading and learning Scripture.
This is how God teaches us "in the way of wisdom."

The Word of God is not really learned unless it is used in applied.
We shouldn't just memorize Scripture, we should place it in our heart where we make decisions.
David said, "Thy Word have I hid in my HEART, that I might not sin against thee." (Psalm 119:11)
The mind is the place of storage, but the heart is the place of action!

When we learn and apply God's Word in daily living,
then God can lead us with "straight" steps and keep us from "stumbling."

Finally, we must "take fast hold" on the Word of God.
That simply means to keep clinging to, learning and growing.

Donít let the world of desperateness "catch up" to you!
Get in the process of learning and growing in God's Word.

Love ya!
