At work, he received his first performance evaluation.
So, he decided to look up the supervisor’s comments
and see what they really meant.
Here's what he found:
Zealous Attitude (meaning: opinionated).
Qualified (meaning: has committed no major blunders).
WILL GO FAR: (meaning:is related to someone in management.)
As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold;
so is a man to his praise.
LIGHT from the WORD.
Most of the time, we tend to take far too seriously the compliments
With a sense of pride, we like to accept ownership concerning
Yet, the praise we receive from others is not a valid indication of
Neither is it a measure of success.
Compliments received from others are actually “tests” by which
God evaluates our pride.
There are many Christians who have been diverted from their walk
with God because of a gluttonous desire to feed an ego.
We must remember, any good we do is because
Whatever praise we may receive, we should submit to God.
For we are “works in progress” as God is transforming us into the
image of Christ.
When we are praised, let us with humility praise our Lord!
