Three sharks met off the coast of Florida and were talking about
their day's activities.
They had been catching tourists as they swam.
1st shark, "I caught a big 6-foot-three tourist from Texas today.
2nd shark, "I caught a nice fat tourist from Virginia today.
3rd shark, "I'm starving to death. I caught a politician from D.C.,
and when I bit into him, there was nothing but AIR!"
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them,
because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world,
but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
LIGHT from the WORD.
Yes, there are of the world who would consume Christians.
There is a great conflict in the world because of those
who are in the WORD.
Jesus said the world has "hated" Christians,
because they are given the Word of God!
Christians are different because they are
Notice Jesus did not pray that God should "take them OUT
of the world!"
He prayed that God would "KEEP them from the evil!"
Sometimes we WISH to be REMOVED!
However, God wants us to be useful IN the world!
Notice Jesus said He has given His disciples the
"Word" of God!
That Word exposes evil and makes it shameful.
That Word expresses salvation, by grace, through faith
in Christ Jesus.
That Word presents moral principles by which the
world is better governed.
Christians, while we are "in the world," let us be
"in the WORD"!
Galatians 6:6 says,
"Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him
that teacheth in all good things.
Soon enough the conflict will be over!
Until then, let us USE the WORD of God to make a
difference in the world!
And, remember, Jesus is ALWAYS praying for you who
are in the Word!
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost
that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make
intercession for them.
