Once when I had taken my dad to the VA Hospital in Shreveport,
we stopped on the way home at a restaurant.

The Maitre D welcomed us, picked up some menus, and said,
”Walk this way.”

And Dad started to imitate her walk!

Col 2:6-7
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught,
abounding therein with thanksgiving.

The Greek word from which "walk ye" is translated is peripateo (per-ee-pat-eh'-o).
Actively, it means to tread around, or to walk at large.
Figuratively, it means to live as, or to show oneself.

If indeed, one has received Christ, he/she should exhibit a genuine relationship with Christ in daily life.

Walking in Christ means ACTION.
Our choice of words, and the things we do reflect our Lord in our hearts.
Rom 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the
dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Walking in Christ means CONTINUING DAILY.
Christianity is not a Sunday religion!
It is a DAILY effort to please our Lord and imitate Him.
Col 3:17
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Walking in Christ means PROGRESSION.
We are "Born To Grow In Jesus"! (See
Having received Christ, we also receive the impetus to GROW!
Phil 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Growing in Christ is so important, Peter made it his last word to the church.
2 Peter 3:18
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

As we learn more of Christ from the Bible, we are changed day-by-day!
2 Cor 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed
into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

"So walk ye in Him!"

Love ya!
