Today's Devotion:
"WASHED and CHANGED"
There was a big ditch in front
of our house in the country.
The rain usually kept it full for
awhile.
When it did rain, we'd go out
and play in the water which
was knee-deep.
The water was clean and
running; but it would turn
muddy after we played in it.
And, of course, WE got
dirty and our clothes did too!
________SCRIPTURE________
Titus 3:3-7
3 For we ourselves also were
sometimes foolish, disobedient,
deceived, serving divers lusts
and pleasures, living in malice
and envy, hateful, and hating one
another.
4 But after that the kindness and
love of God our Saviour toward
man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved
us, by the washing of regeneration,
and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly
through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace,
we should be made heirs according
to the hope of eternal life.

Mom gave us baths, washed
our clothes, and made us
"presentable."
It was not because we were "good."
It was because she LOVED us!
And, God does the same thing!
Verse 3 began with we "were
sometimes foolish," then names
spiritual sins.
That is what happens when we
live in the world without Christ.
Verse 4 begins with "But after"
Christ was presented to us, we
were: WASHED and CHANGED!
It was because of God's love,
mercy, and grace that He showed
us His love through Jesus Christ!
(Rom. 5:8)
When we believed and received
Jesus as Lord of our lives, THEN
He CLEANSED and CHANGED
our minds, our heart and our
actions!
Be thankful that God Who LOVED
us:
*PAID the penalty of our sins;
*Then, AFTER we believed and
received;
*WASHED us in His blood, and
His Holy Spirit;
*And, PUT ON us HIS "robes of
righteousness."
PRAISE GOD!
"Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and
honour, and power, unto the Lord
our God:" (Rev. 19:1)
