THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Sometimes I think the state of our economy is due to DESCENDENCY.
We were born of the "old woman who lived in a shoe."
Now, we live on a SHOESTRING!
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:
and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
What are you living on?
What single most important thing empowers your life?
The believer in Christ, who studies and applies the Word of God to his/her life, knows the happiness of God's presence in his soul.
Nothing fulfills our joy better than knowing God's presence in our life!
God's presence brings humility.
The closer we walk with Him, the more we know His greatness, and the more we are bent toward Him in service.
And God's presence issues into holiness.
Knowing His presence, and having the guidance of His Word, we desire to live pure in mind and action.
There's an old song, written by John H. Sammis in 1887 that expresses the thought behind the above verse of Scripture.
"When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey."
"Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey."
Don't live on a shoestring.
Live on His PRESENCE!
