THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Dear Abby:
I've been married 28 years and my husband spends money like he thinks Hoover is still in the White House!
I have to cut my own hair, make my own clothes, and he makes me account for every penny I spend.
He has a stack of Defense bonds stashed away that would choke a horse.
He's not just thrifty, he's a MISER! He says he keeps the money for "a rainy day."
How do I get some money out of him before we are raptured?
A Miser's Wife.

Dear Wife:
Tell him it's RAINING!

1Thessalonians 4:16-18
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

One day, believers will see Jesus in the atmosphere.
There will be a "shout" from His lips calling believers to join Him in the clouds!
That will be a day when believers defy gravity!

The "trump of God" is symbolic of the trumpet used in the Old Testament to call believers to the temple for worship.
When Jesus appears at this time, believers will see and hear Him calling them to come and worship Him forever without the hindrance of sin.

The key to seeing and being a part of this event is to be "in Christ."
Those who have died "in Christ" will rise to meet Him first.
Those who are "alive" and "remain" in Christ will rise to meet Him next.
Then we will be purged from all sin and changed to the full likeness of our Lord and Savior (1Corinthians 13:12).

This is a comforting thought to those who are "in Christ!"

What a great day we have to look forward to!

It COULD happen ANYTIME!
Are you "in Christ?"

Love ya!
