THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A pastor friend of mine was performing a wedding.
He asked the bride if she promised to love, honor, cherish and obey.
She said, "Do you think I'm CRAZY?"
The groom, who seemed to be in a daze, mumbled, "I do."
Then the wedding got EXCITING!
13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
14 But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
God is constantly keeping His promise to the saved: “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.†(Heb. 13:5)
Yet, it seems that at every trial, we have doubts!
God says He CANNOT forget His children!
His pain, willingly accepted to deliver us, is even greater than the pain of a woman at child birth.
For He has, "graven" us upon "the palms" of His hands!!
Shall we not be amazed at His love for us?
Squire Parsons once wrote a song entitled: I Stand Amazed.
"When I examine that old rugged cross,
the mighty gulf it spans.
It reaches down to the lowest hell,
and up to heaven's golden strand.
And I stand AMAZED,
at the love which has sought me,
saved me and bought me.
I stand AMAZED!"
The next time you are fraught with fears and anxieties, and doubts creep in,
remember, "I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands!!"
Then, life will become EXCITING!
