THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A local pastor preached a sermon on Sunday morning entitled, “Why The Church DIED!”

During the 20 minute sermon, he spoke about 3 important things the church did not do.
1) The church did not visit with the sick.
2) The church provided no educational and recreational activities for the young or the old.
3) The church had not seen a baptism in 3 years.

At the end of the sermon, the pastor rolled out a coffin.
He invited the members to come and look at HOW the church died.

As each member approached the coffin, there was a mirror tilted at just the right angle!

THOUGHT____________________________________

By the Word of God we are convicted of sin, convinced of the Savior, and compelled to conscript ourselves to Him. (Rom. 10:13)

Without the Word of God, we would not know we are sinners in need of a Savior, and we’d never surrender ourselves to Him as Lord.
Heb 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

By the Word of God we are given strength for our “seed” (Lk. 8:11) to help that “seed” grow and produce fruit.
As our text (2Tim. 2:15) shows, we become adept at using the Word of God correctly, when we STUDY that Word.

There is no serpent of lies that cannot be cut down with the written Word of God!
There are no “storms” in our lives which cannot be calmed by the Word of God!

This should teach us the value of studying the Word of God!

In the Word of God one will find:
comfort for heartache,
truth without error,
fact without fiction,
hope for eternity,
and, joy for the moment!

Let us read and learn the Word of God!
By that, we will store memories of His rich and profound truths.

Then, let us store the Word of God in our hearts, where we make our decisions.
Thus, the Lord will be able, in our lives, to “will and to do according to His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)

By studying the Word of God, we learn WHO is to evangelize the lost and educate the saved!

Love ya!
