THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Someone once said there are only two classes of people in the world.
That may be true; but WHO does the classifying?
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
The answer to the question above is that, in this world, whoever has the most power at the time does the classifying.
In today's world, if you are a Christian, standing out for morality, then you are classified as "BAD!"
You may be called, judgmental, extremist, bigot, intolerant, and many other names.
Why indeed do people insist on believing there is no God?
Why do people try to find fault with the Holy and Righteous God that created them?
People do not want to be bound by rules of righteousness and truth (verse 3).
They want to "break" those "bonds."
People, by nature are sinners, and want to serve self more than anything or anyone else.
Those who insist upon serving self rather than God, are enemies of God and of His "anointed."
The words "His anointed," refer to the Lord Jesus Christ, our One and only Saviour, Who is the Ruler of all nations.
The words "His anointed," also refer to God's PEOPLE (Christians).
Today, God's people are constantly held in derision because of their faith.
People want to "break" the rules of morality and live for their own desires.
They want to justify that by calling God's people names.
But, in the end, God is the One Who will do the classifying!
