THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
An older preacher was speaking to students in seminary.
He said, “All my life I’ve prayed that God would not allow me
to become bitter in old age; but rather He would make me
sweet in my latter years.
Well, the Lord has answered my prayers!!
(He leaned over the lectern)
I have sugar diabetes.”
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose
heart are the ways of them.
6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well;
the rain also filleth the pools.
Light from the Word.
The journey of life is a “valley of Baca” – valley of tears.
Our duty is to make it sweeter for ourselves and others.
BLESSED – blissfully happy.
A man is blissfully happy when he relies not on his own strength;
but relies upon the strength of the Lord!
He is always thinking in terms of drawing closer to the Lord daily.
On his journey through life, he will face many difficulties.
Yet, his desire is to continue drawing closer to God.
MAKING A WELL
The first result is this man provides a “well” in the valley of tears.
Through every difficulty, his desire to be closer to God, produces
wisdom for those who come behind him.
Others may drink deeply from his wisdom.
RAIN FILLING POOLS
The second result is this man provides comfort for others who
are traveling through difficult times – valleys of tears.
God comforts us in our difficulties.
In turn, we are to comfort others with our experiences.
What are you doing on your journey through life?
