DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A young boy in the 3rd grade was given an assignment
to write a paper on "wisdom."

This is what he turned in.
"Solomon, my Sunday School teacher says, was the wisest
man in the world.
But, he didn't sound to wise to me.
He had 700 wives and 300 porcupines."

SCRIPTURE______________________________

1 Kings 4:29-30
29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding
much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
30 And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of
the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
KJV

1 Kings 11:1-4
1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with
the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites,
Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the
children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they
come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after
heir gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three
hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives
turned away his heart after other gods:

LIGHT from the WORD.

Here, the Word of God shows that man is always a sinner.
Even when God's grace was mulitiplied exceedingly to Solomon,
he allowed those things in his life that shouldn't be, and
allowed those thing to lead him away from a right
relationship with God.

God had warned that kings were not to "multiply" wives.
(See Deut. 17:17).
God had said that the king was to have the "book" of the
law by his side and read in it EVERY day! (See Deut. 17:19)

God had warned against the infiltration of false gods through
marriage (See Ex. 34:12-1 6)

Promiscuity in leadership promotes promiscuity in the nation.
Promiscuity in the nation turns hearts away from God!

Broken marriages, single-parent famlies, and abortions are the
results of sensual satisfaction without thought of the cost!

Christians be AWARE!
We are living in the age of GRACE.
But, even with great grace multiplied to us, we MUST
learn the Word of God and follow the principles in it!

Make Jesus the PRIMARY FOCUS of your life!

Love ya!
