Duffy Daugherty was head coach of the Michigan State University Spartans football team from 1954 to 1972, where he compiled a career record of 109-65-5.
His 19 seasons at the helm of Spartan football are still the longest of any head coach in the program's history.

Duffy was best known for his wit, good humor, and wisdom. Once he said,
"When you're playing for the national championship, it's not a matter of life and death; it's more important than that!"

Acts 1:1-8
1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When you're a born-again, washed-in-the-blood, sealed-in-the-spirit Christian, life is not a matter of living or dying;

By His death, burial and resurrection, Jesus secured eternal life in glory for all true believers.
Eternal life is not only defined by its length but by its quality.
That quality is to live in similitude as Christ, and for the glory of Christ.
It is to imitate His mannerisms as much as is possible, and to bear witness that Christ is the ONLY WAY to have eternal LIFE!

Luke explains that after His resurrection, Jesus met with His disciples and gave many infallible proofs of His physical resurrection.
Then Jesus told them that when He was "taken up" they would receive power.
That power is the entrance of God's Holy Spirit.
And "..greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." (1John 4:4)

By the presence of God's Holy Spirit within a Christian, he/she "shall be witnesses" unto Christ!

Being a witness of Christís love and care is what Christians should be about.
After all, we are representing Christ in the life we live.
Letís focus upon the quality of our work!

It's not a matter of life or death; it's MORE IMPORTANT than that!

Love ya!
