THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Do you want to know wonderful things?
Do you want to know wisdom that is ALWAYS faithful, and true?
O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name;
for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
Isaiah bursts out in praise for God, Who has done "wonderful things,"
and His "counsels of old are faithfulness and truth."
The word "LORD" here is a reference to Jehovah (Yehovah, pronounced yeh-ho-vaw').
That word indicates the self-existent, eternal God.
It is THIS God, Jehovah, Who guides history.
It is He Who determines the perfection of how men SHOULD live.
And He enforces the holiness of HIS law upon all mankind (verse 2-3).
Those people who surrender to Him will be saved, and those who do not will be torn down.
Later, Isaiah refers to Jehovah as the ONLY Savior!
"I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour."
(Isaiah 43:11, Isaiah 45:21)
(See also Hos 13:4)
The Jehovah of the Old Testament IS the Jesus of the New Testament!
Jesus is the ONE and ONLY Savior of mankind!
He is God incarnate!
The Old Testament ends with Malachi 4, a promise of God coming to bring salvation.
The New Testament begins with Matthew telling how Jesus entered the world as the Savior of man.
Surrender to Jesus as Lord of your life,and:
know the "wonderful things" He can do in your life;
and, know His Bible as "counsels of ...faithfulness and truth!"
