Many years ago, Ann and I liked to run in the evenings.
She was always slower.
I would run about a mile, then turn and come back.
When I caught her, I'd challenge her to keep up.
Once, I got close to the house, and looked back to
see where she was.
And, I banged my toe on a root!!
That thing was swelled for a week, and I couldn't wear
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
LIGHT from the WORD.
Think about your body.
When one part is hurt, other parts have to help.
Every part of your body is different, and has different functions.
I remember an old saying about a bad cold.
"My body is all mixed up: My feet are smelling and my
nose is running."
The functions of the body are coordinated by the mind.
Now, let's apply some of that to the church.
We're all different.
But we must coordinate with each other to perform the
purpose for which our Lord Jesus created us!
We must examine ourselves, find our gifts and places;
then, submit to the mind, which is our Lord!
NONE of us need to RUN the job;
ALL of us need to PERFORM the job
under Christ's direction!!
We are all members of the BODY of Christ!
We must learn to work together!
Be aware, through study of God's Word, of your gifts and place in the BODY!
Be you, but be IN the BODY under HIS guidance!
We are to both EDIFY the "Body", and EVANGLIZE the lost!
WORK for the PURPOSE under CHRIST!
