THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
We are all fighting!
Some are fighting mental battles.
Some are fighting physical battles.
Some are fighting spiritual battles.
But ALL are fighting.
Show me a person not fighting, and I'll show you a person who's dying.
1 Tim 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called,
and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Faith is the active work of God inside the Christian.
Once we are saved, God's Holy Spirit SEALS us (Eph. 1:13).
Then, He begins to work IN us and THROUGH us (Ppns. 2:13).
Faith is a gift of God working in the saved person (Eph. 2:8-9)
We don't work for God to gain faith, we work because of faith!
The first word Paul uses in the Scripture above is "Fight."
It is translated from the Greek agonizomai (ag-o-nid'-zom-ahee).
And it means to labor fervently, or strive.
The second time we see "fight" in that verse it is translated from
the Greek agon (ag one').
It means to contest, or to race.
Loosely translated then, Paul is saying, "Labor fervently in the contest of faith."
That leaves no room for laxness.
It is a daily exercise!
Are you fighting?
Or, are you dying?
