THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Some people don't believe in total depravity.
Those folks have never been to a middle school basketball game!
Isaiah 53: 6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;
and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Allow me to "key in" on one particular word here: "All!"
Not a single person can claim to have lived without sin!
In this verse we find a deeper meaning of the word "sin."
The verse plainly says that we have all "turned every one to his own way."
THAT in itself is the real basis of sin.
God created us for Himself.
For us to take our lives and use them for self is sin because it is against our Creator's design.
All other sins stem from this sin of selfishness.
Christ received the just punishment designed for all who reject God as Creator/Master.
Thus, it is only by SURRENDER to Christ that we can be placed back in a right relationship with God.
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
In order for salvation to be offered, Christ died to become what man NEEDED!
In order for salvation to take place in us,
WE must die to self and strive to become what God wants us to be - DAILY!
