DAILY DEVOTION

HI!

Norma Hilstead was 14 years old and the daughter of a golf pro.
Early one morning she was out practicing.

She birdied the first hole, a par 5.
The 2nd hole was a par 3 that ran along the railroad track.

She took her stance and got ready to swing.
Just then, a train whistle sounded.
Remembering what her dad had taught her, she
concentrated and took the swing.

The ball struck the front of the green, rolled into the hole!
HOLE - IN - ONE!

After the round she told her dad.
He explained she could not count it because she had
no witnesses.
Then, he said, "Honey you've a lot to learn about golf."

A week later, a letter came to the clubhouse addressed
to Norma.
It was from the train engineer.
He had seen the shot!

She showed the letter to her dad.
He told her now she had to buy everyone in the clubhouse a cold drink.

Yes!
She had a LOT to learn!

SCRIPTURE______________________________

Matt 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek
and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

LIGHT from the WORD.

The "yoke" (Greek zugos) represented that
which was placed upon the ox for WORK!
It also was a collar, worn by a student of the Teacher.

YES!
We have a LOT to LEARN about our relationship with Christ!
When we fully realize the need of eternal salvation, we
come to Christ.
We surrender ourselves to Him for servantship!

The yoke symbolized studentship!

One cannot learn to follow the Master's teaching without
studying the WORD!

The yoke also symbolized labor!

It's easy to enroll in Jesus' school.
There are no forms to fill out and no dues to be paid.
Just surrender to Jesus as LORD, and allow Him to become your
Master and teach you.
Then you can learn important principles from the Principal!
Especially the principle of servantship!

Take the YOKE!
STUDY, LEARN, GROW and DO according to His teaching!

We all still have a LOT to LEARN about life with JESUS!

Love ya!
