THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
When you fall into the sea of fear and doubt,
remember Jesus is STILL THERE reaching out
the hand of saving grace!
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were
troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying,
Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou,
bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down
out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid;
and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand,
and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith,
wherefore didst thou doubt?
LIGHT from the WORD.
The lesson in this story is not about whether Peter had "little faith"!
The lesson is not about whether Peter was more brash IN his faith
than he really had.
The lesson is about KNOWING to call on Jesus when WE fail!
When Jesus saves us, He gives us a mustard seed of faith.
And, yes, He expects it to be nurtured and to GROW!
But the way we grow in strength of faith is by calling upon HIM
when we are washed over by the seas of doubt and fear!
Faith grows by TRYING, FAILING, and LEARNING!
You will never succeed if you don't first TRY!
And, if/when you fail LEARN!
A LITTLE FAITH, calling upon Jesus is GREAT FAITH!
DOUBT is going to happen!
Learn to completely trust in Christ, and call upon Him!
