8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my
servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth,
a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God,
and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said,
Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him,
and about his house, and about all that he hath on
every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands,
and his substance is increased in the land.
11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he
hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he
hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth
thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence
of the LORD.
LIGHT from the WORD.
Was Job a RIGHTEOUS man?
Yes. God said so Himself. Job 1:8
WHY was Job considered righteous?
Because he feared (reverenced) God and
eschewed (hated) evil! Job 1:1
But BAD THINGS happened to Job, didn't they?
When bad things happen to good people we should not
assume it's because they deserve it!
We ALL deserve bad things because of sin!
Job was suffered bad things for 3 major reasons.
First, Job was tested in his faith.
He needed to learn that God would stand by him,
even in the most troubled times.
Second, Satan was tested in his assumed wisdom.
He needed to learn that whom God has chosen,
Satan CANNOT steal!!
Third, Job's friends were tested in their self-proclaimed wisdom.
They needed to learn that just because a bad thing happened
to someone, it doesn't mean that person was being sinful.
In this world we ALL suffer because of SIN!
We suffer because of our OWN sin;
because of OTHER'S sin;
and, because of Satan's demonic plots!
But when bad things happen to good people, we
as Christians should PRAY for them, ENCOURAGE
them and HELP them!
God vindicated Job, and gave back MORE than Job had
in the first place!
THAT'S why we need to be kind to one another, and
encourage one another.
