LIGHT from the WORD.
One of the names for Jerusalem is "City of God."
And another is "City of Peace."
It's rather ironical that this place has had so little peace in the
history of the world.
When Solomon built the temple there, God promised to "dwell"
among the people.
Today, the church is like Jerusalem!
The Great God, Creator and Redeemer is PRESENT there!
His praise rings through the church as the saints sing and glorify
And there, God protects His people from the "hostage takers"
of the world.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might
have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation:
but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
The church is a "city of refuge," a moral oasis in a world
seething in immorality!
It is the place where God's love abounds in His people.
A place where quiet moments of reflection soothe the soul.
A place where we prepare the heart to face the difficulties of
A place for the teaching of truth, joy, hope and love.
AND, the church is where misfits perfectly fit it!
