Today's Devotion:
"YES NO MAYBE LATER"
Jane got married and moved away from home.
One day, she came to have a talk with Dad.
Her husband had a good job, but the company
had cut help & he lost the job.
Since he was a college graduate, almost every
place he applied, they said he was
OVER-QUALIFIED!
Jane was beside herself with concern.
She asked Dad, "WHY is God sending us
through these troubled waters?"
Dad answered, "Maybe it's because your
enemy cannot swim!"

Matt 15:22-28
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out
of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying,
Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David;
my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his
disciples came and besought him, saying, Send
her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but
unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying,
Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to
take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of
the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her,
O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even
as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole
from that very hour.

_______THOUGHT______________
She owned Him as her Lord, and begged for His help.
Her faith made her CLING to the truth of God's Person
and character.
She KNEW He was full of compassion, and she would
not leave until her request was answered.
If it be "No," then she would at least have had an answer.
And if it be "Yes," then it would be all the more wonderful
for her and her daughter.
Jesus used the analogy of a great Master who had a
tremendous meal for his chosen people,
but it wasn't intended to cast the bread from that table to
"dogs."
Still, her faith made her CLING to Him.
She said, "Yes, Lord. It is but a CRUMB for You to do this,
but for me it is a FULL MEAL!"
This is an example of prevailing prayer!
She prayed until she got an answer!
It is only a crumb for Jesus to forgive our sins.
But, to us, it is ETERNAL SALVATION!
It is only a crumb for Christ to pour out grace
unmeasured.
But to us it is "exceeding abundantly above all we
ask or think!"
When you are struggling, trying to get an answer from God,
ask in prevailing prayer!
He may answer with YES.
He may answer with NO.
And, He may answer with MAYBE LATER.
Love ya!
