THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A new librarian came to live in the small town.
One contractor spent a lot of time in the library.
He really liked the new librarian.
They dated a few times.
But the contractor was afraid to “pop the question.”
He went to his friend, a druggist.
The druggist gave him a pill.
He said, “Take this with a little water. Then go over to her
house and you will have the strength to ask her to marry you.”
He did, and she said, “YES!”
They got married and had a two-week honeymoon.
When he got back, he visited the druggist to thank him.
He asked, “What was in the pill?”
Druggist, “Just a sugar pill! The rest was FAITH!”
Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home
to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done
for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
Light from the Word.
In Mark 5, we find the account of a demoniac.
He was possessed by thousands of demonic evil spirits.
He lived in the graveyard – among the dead people!
He was always shouting, cutting himself, and very scary.
But – Jesus came to him!
Jesus healed him!
When the towns people heard about it they came to see.
And, they found him “clothed, and in his right mind.” (Mark 5:15)
As a result the towns people were afraid of Jesus, and they
asked him to LEAVE!
The healed demoniac wanted to go with Jesus.
This man became the first “Home Missionary.”
Later, when Jesus returned to the same place, thousands of people
came out to greet Him!
Jesus healed a deaf man, and fed 4,000 people!!
What made the difference in the two visits?
The healed demoniac did what Jesus said!!
He testified how God had shown mercy upon him and healed him!!
What would happen if Christians in America became “Home Missionaries?”
Christian, you have the Holy Spirit of God!!
You have ALL the faith you need!!
“Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord
hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee!”
