In Louisiana you can't take a picture of a man with a wooden leg.
(Read through the devotion to find out why.)
A Song of degrees.
Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.
2 Cor 1:5
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us,
so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
LIGHT from the WORD.
No person can live without suffering in this world.
There is SIN in this world, and sin brings suffering!
Yet, our omnipotent God was aware of this before He
created the universe this world, and mankind.
And, God allows us to CALL to Him "Out of the depths"
of our suffering!
The sins of the world also bring persecution to those
who stand for Christ and for righteousness.
Those sufferings "abound" upon Christians!
But - we are "blessed" in and through them!!
For the Christian, there is “consolation” in every trial!
It is in the depths of our difficulties that we find the freshness
of our Lord’s presence.
It is in the darkness of our life that His light shines brightest.
When our ship of life is tossed by storms around us,
we can be assured our Lord is coming across the waters.
He will captain our ship safely to the Golden Shore!
BECAUSE we are "blessed" (blissfully happy
in Christ), we can ABOUND BY Christ!
When life takes us into the “depths,” we fall to our knees.
THAT is where “consolation ... aboundeth by Christ!”
You can’t take a picture of a man with a wooden leg!
You need a camera for that!
My Christian friend, you cannot live without troubles!
You need PRAYER for that!!
